Un'abitazione della contea di Black Pond è teatro di orribili morti. Il reverendo David Thompson si prodiga nell'aiutare l'ispettore di polizia nelle investigazioni, ma nel frattempo un altro reverendo con la sua famiglia arriva in città per prendere l'incarico di una chiesa abbandonata da anni e si trasferisce ad abitare proprio in quella casa. Gli eventi misteriosi e le inspiegabili uccisioni continuano e viene accusato un ragazzo ritardato che vive nei paraggi, ma il reverendo Thompson scoprirà che l'artefice di tutto è una strega giustiziata in quel luogo trecento anni prima e che aveva giurato vendetta.
