L'adolescente Billy Duncan, immaturo e fantasioso, trova nel deserto una strana arma a raggi laser. L'aggeggio è stato abbandonato dagli alieni che ricevono dalla base astrale l'ordine di recuperarlo. Anche Tony Craig, agente inviato da Washingoton si mette a indagare. L'amica di Billy Kathy comincia a nutrire qualche sospetto, ma Billy, intanto, ha cominciato ad usare l'arma per eliminare i conoscenti più antipatici. Gli alieni che ormai lo hanno individuato, recuperano l'arma e lo uccidono sotto lo sguardo attonito di Tony e Khaty.
