Westworld è un parco divertimento popolato da androidi creato per consentire ai visitatori un'esperienza a tema western realistica e ultra violenta, senza alcuna ripercussione morale e legale. A tal fine il dottor Robert Ford direttore creativo del parco e capo del team di sviluppo, aggiorna continuamente gli androidi con le cosiddette "ricordanze" (sogni ad occhi aperti) per renderli sempre più simili agli umani.
