A quattro anni dall'ultima incisione, THE MISSION, CRASH OF THE CROWN è il nuovo album in studio degli STYX, in uscita il prossimo 25 Giugno in CD e LP.Composto e realizzato durante la pandemia dai leggendari James JY Young (voce e chitarra), Tommy Shaw (voce e chitarra), Chuck Panozzo (basso), Todd Sucherman (batteria e percussioni), Lawrence Gowan (voce e tastiere) e Ricky Phillips (basso, chitarra e voce): il sestetto arriva al 17. album, in uscita per la loro etichetta Alpha Dog 2T con distribuzione Universal Music Enterprise.Le idee per realizzare CRASH OF THE CROWN hanno iniziato a prendere forma nell'home studio di Tommy Shaw a Nashville nell'inverno del 2019, con l'aiuto del produttore Will Evankovich. Poi la pandemia globale ha bloccato tutto e la band ha continuato a registrare la canzoni con session socially distanced.
