Breakfast In America dei Supertramp è stato lalbum più venduto al mondo nel 1979. Ha lanciato diversi singoli di successo, vincendo due Grammy Awards e vendendo oltre 20 milioni di copie. Dopo luscita del disco i Supertramp hanno intrapreso un tour mondiale di 10 mesi, che è arrivato a Parigi alla fine di novembre, al Pavillon de Paris.
