Ilgiovane Dan è testimone di un singolare fenomeno: delle cartemisteriose raffiguranti strani mostri cominciamo a pioverglitutt'intorno. La cosa si ripete contemporaneamente su tutta la Terra e,grazie ad internet, Dan e i suoi amici inventano un gioco nuovochiamato "Bakugan", dal nome generico delle creature raffigurate sullecarte. Il gioco prevede un combattimento di tre round durante il qualei giocatori mettono in campo delle sfere che, aprendosi, si trasformanonei Bakugan.
