Patricia Fowler, disegnatrice in una casa di prodotti di bellezza, viene scoperta mentre sta cercando di rubare la formula di un cosmetico e licenziata in tronco. Lascia Parigi e si trasferisce a New York dove è assunta da una società rivale di quella in cui lavorava. In realtà il suo nuovo lavoro è una copertura: Patricia sta svolgendo delle indagini sulla morte di suo fratello, avvenuta in circostanze misteriose su una pista da sci in Svizzera.
