Un avvocato vive con la moglie e tre bambini in un paese alla periferia di una grande città. L'irrequietezza dei figli non consentono a nessuna donna di servizio di resistere a lungo. Disperati i due mettono un'inserzione su un giornale per tentare di contattare una nuova governante. All'annuncio risponde Elia Belvedere che viene scambiata per una donna.
