Dopo aver perso la sua squadra di salvataggio in un tragico incidente, il comandante Ben Randall, scosso dall'accaduto, viene mandato contro la sua volontà ad insegnare le tecniche del salvataggio alla "A" School, una scuola che addestra l'elite delle reclute che diventeranno i migliori Rescue Swimmers.
