Da 40 anni Laurie Strode si prepara per il ritorno di Michael Myers, lo psicopatico che ha massacrato i suoi amici durante la notte di Halloween del 1978. E per tutti quegli anni Laurie è rimasta chiusa in casa, imponendo la stessa reclusione anche alla figlia Karen, con l'intento di proteggerla dall'inevitabile ricomparsa del mostro.
