Jennings, un giudice dell'Oklahoma ha quattro figli che si sono dedicati tutti allo studio della legge. Il più giovane, Al, insofferente e suscettibile, provoca in tribunale degli incidenti che mettono in imbarazzo il padre. Un giorno Al prende a pugni un avvocato che, nel difendere un cliente, ha offeso suo fratello. In seguito a questo incidente, i due fratelli vengono aggrediti da alcuni malviventi, assoldati dall'avvocato avversario. Nello scontro il fratello maggiore viene ucciso e quando il mandante, dopo essere stato arrestato, viene liberato, Al pensa di farsi giustizia da sé.
