Brenner è un investigatore privato a corto di fortuna e di soldi, e per questo accetta a malincuore un incarico offerto dal suo amico Berti. Un uomo di nome Horvath e la sua macchina sono spariti nel nulla. Le tracce portano Brenner a una piccola pensione specializzata in polli: ogni settimana ne vengono consumati migliaia e le ossa sono macinate e utilizzate come fertilizzante.
