Prima che i Khmer Rossi prendessero il potere nel 1975, scatenando un orribile genocidio, la Cambogia aveva una delle scene musicali piu vivaci ed emozionanti dell\'Asia. Con una miscela di musica tradizionale khmer e una miriade di generi occidentali (dalla musica francese e latina, al rock-and-roll, al rhythm-and-blues, al surf, alla psichedelia, al soul e molti altri), le poche registrazioni cambogiane precedenti al 1975 che sono sopravvissute - la maggior parte sono state distrutte - sono sufficienti a far si che chiunque abbia un gusto per la buona musica rimanga scioccato dall\'incredibile qualita dei suoni creati durante quegli anni d\'oro.
