Dick Dale è noto come l'inventore della surf music strumentale e come il principale ispiratore del surf rock. Anche chiamato il re della chitarra surf, Dale è stato uno dei chitarristi più influenti dell'inizio degli anni Sessanta. Con la sua band, i Del-Tones, Dale ha lanciato al mania della surf music negli Stati Uniti e ha anche aperto la strada all'uso di particolari effetti chitarristici che hanno fatto scuola. In questa nuova edizione allLP originale sono state aggiunte 4 tracce bonus registrate da Dale nello stesso periodo.
