Opel è una raccolta che contiene materiale inedito e versioni alternative di registrazioni effettuate durante le sessioni in studio dei suoi due precedenti album, 'The Madcap Laughs' e 'Barrett'. La raccolta venne pubblicata nel 1988 e contiene pezzi registrati in un arco di tempo tra il 1968 e il 1970. In origine questa compilation doveva anche contenere due brani inediti che Barrett aveva scritto quando ancora faceva parte della band dei Pink Floyd. Ma la pubblicazione dei due inediti fu bloccata proprio dalla band per ragioni imprecisate.Fonte: Warner Music
