L'album è stato prodotto da Rick Rubin e Daron Malakian e ha raggiunto il 15. posto nella Billboard Top 200. All'inizio del 2002, gli MP3 dell'album furono pubblicati in Internet con il nome Toxicity II, un chiaro riferimento al precedente disco.
