Registrato nel 1966 durante il tour multimediale dell\'evento Exploding Plastic Inevitable di Andy Warhol, l\'album attirera l\'attenzione per la sua sensibilita alle performance sperimentali, cosi come l\'attenzione per gli argomenti controversi espressi in molte delle sue canzoni tra cui abuso di droghe, prostituzione, sadismo e masochismo e sesso deviante.
